Antony Jinman

Extreme motivation. Ultimate adversity. No excuses

Overview

“The polar realms are inaccessible places to this day, but in Scott’s time it must have been like visiting another planet. He was a pioneer who translated a dream into reality.”

At 22, Antony Jinman was almost paralysed after a snowboarding accident. At 29, he reached the Geographic North Pole, having trekked for 500 miles in just 51 days. That was only last year, and already he’s preparing to go back. On 19 January 2012, exactly a century after Captain Scott reached the pole, he plans to visit the remote Antarctic burial site of his fellow Plymouth-born hero, and lead a service of commemoration. Passionate about “education through expeditions”, Antony regularly visits schools to inspire children and teach them about climate change. For adults, he offers masterclasses in motivation and leadership, as well as tales of adventure from one of the harshest environments on Earth.
